A IN A JAPANESE TRAIN
From: Hirosh
Hiroshima High School
<hschool@hitp.ac.jp>
June 30th 2000
I always go to my school by train.
During the rush hours, it is most crowded.
It's from 7 to 9 in the morning.
I ride a train from 7:40 to 8:15 in the morning.
The train is always full of people.
50% of the people are students, and 50% of the people are workers.
In rainy days, the number of the passengers increase.
The same people ride the same train everyday.
The same person takes a seat or stands at the same place.
When my train comes to my nearest station, It has already been full.
I can't sit down on seat. So I always stand on the deck.
I promise to my friend to go to school together,
But in the train we can never see each other.
Some people use the handy phone in a train.
Some people sit down on the desk, so we can't walk through the crowded
people.
They are too noisy!
Everyone uses trains. So user should be quiet when
in a train.
Then everyone can be relaxed in trains.
Winter Days
From: Hiroshima High School <hschool@hitp.ac.jp>
By: Eri Kohara at Hiroshima High School
I go to my grandparents' house about three times a year in my school holidays.
Such as spring, summer and winter. I like to go in winter. In that time
people are busy preparing
for new year's day. The New Year begins in January 1 in Japan.
We Japanese celebrate New Year's day rather than Christmas Day. We think
that Christmas is the day for Christians so we don't celebrate much. On
Christmas day, I think I was studying, because I was in the examination
hell. But still I went to my grandparent's house to celebrate the new
millenium 2000. I go there on December 29 and stay until January 2. The
only day we family can meet is this special day.
When I get there, it's really freezing. I run into the room and get into
the KOTATU .
KOTATU is the table covered with warm blanket and inside the table there
is a light
which makes us warm. We can't go through the winter time without them.
Only thing I am looking forward is the bag. In the bag, there is some
money. We use it for our clothes and other things.
